I am an ordained Lutheran minister who practices pastoral psychotherapy in a way which integrates religious resources with insights from the behavioral sciences. I utilize approaches and principles derived from the disciplines of theology and psychology in working with individuals, couples, families, and groups toward the achievement of wholeness and health in one's life. I view the merging of these two disciplines as applying complimentary therapeutic approaches and techniques, to overcome long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
My clinical specialties are individual, couple and family therapy, pre-marital and marital counseling, parenting skills development, and grief counseling. My approach is straightforward, strength-based and solution-oriented based in pastoral counseling.
Because of my concern for the growing rate of divorce in our society, my Doctoral Dissertation dealt with a new and more informative approach to pre-marital counseling. As a solution-focused therapist, my goal is to help others uncover their true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating.
